The list below shows “typical” services. The normal development model (How We Work) is to collaboratively evaluate your specific situation and needs, identify areas where SAI can provide value-added services, and then discuss customization options that make sense given your current situation.
"Diagnose before you prescribe." (Covey, 1990) Organizational Assessment o Complete organizational process and culture survey. Using a web-based diagnostic tool, personnel respond to a series of questions that provide insight into the organization’s culture, process health, and alignment with strategic goals. Great tool for identifying organizational needs, pinpointing areas for improvement, and baseline measurement to see results! o Pinpointed process or group assessment. Similar to above, evaluation of the health and effectiveness of one pinpointed work process or functional group. Process assessment can include process mapping, improvement recommendations, and metrics. o Trending support. Work with the client to evaluate their existing event / accident reports to identify underlying common themes, causes, and actions to stop the adverse trend. o Root Cause Analysis / Event Investigation. Provide an independent investigation of an incident, apparent trend of similar problems, or process breakdowns resulting in unacceptable level of defects or rework. Continuous Improvement / Development Training. Below is a partial list of typical development programs. Each is customized to suit your needs and to mesh neatly with your existing strategy, leadership, and processes. o Executive Coaching. Are you ready for that next step in your career, but want to fine-tune your skills? This one-on-one training solution provides you the knowledge and confidence to take that next career step and beyond. o Customized Root Cause Analysis fundamentals. Work with the client to understand existing problem identification and resolution programs. Then develop a customized training program to deliver investigation fundamentals for determining the deeper reasons for unexpected events and accidents. This is typically a 2 day program, class size from 5 to 20. o Advanced Root Cause Analysis. For clients with established investigation programs and more advanced investigation culture, a 1 or 2 day program for experienced investigators to raise their skill levels. Use of advanced techniques and practical experience. o Organizational assessment. A 1-day program that teaches techniques for performing internal process and performance assessment. o Continuous improvement fundamentals. One-day program that covers typical continuous improvement activities and how to make them work for the client, given their existing programs. Topics include use of feedback forms, metrics, and problem resolution processes. o Basic worker error-reduction. Typically a 4-hour program that reviews human nature, work environment, and basic error-reduction strategies. o Leadership development. A series of leadership development programs customized for the 4 basic levels of any organization (e.g., executive, senior management, supervisors, and general leadership), work with groups up to 15 individuals over a span of 8 weeks (and then check-in sessions at 3, 6, and 12 months). Program addresses leadership values and actions that create a constructive culture. o Strategic planning. This program covers the strategic business planning process, including organizational assessment, clarification of goals and vision, determining strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT), and improvement actions. o Cycle time reduction. This customizable program is an integrated lean manufacturing system geared toward getting cross-functional teams immediately into process improvement. The program is a great platform for process re-engineering and supply chain management as well. The program is designed to run 5 days, with the team implementing process changes at the end of day 5. Get results NOW! o “Moment of Truth” skills: Employees who have direct contact with customers and suppliers have those moments of truth daily. What impression are they making? They are the representative of the company at the key interface. Target audiences include Sales and Customer Service.
